Homestead Test - another demonstration of reliability and performance

Second year Indy Pro Series team, Michael Crawford Motorsports, tested seven drivers on Wednesday, January 24th at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Travis Gregg, winner of both the pole and the race in 2005, was relied upon to shake down one of Crawford’s two cars. Following Gregg, six additional drivers took to the track to demonstrate their skills to IndyPro Series Official, Butch Meyer.

First up was Mickey Gilbert of Mile High Motorsports. Gilbert joined the test to pass his Indy Pro Series Oval Rookie Test as his team prepares for the upcoming Homestead Open Test on February 20-22. Gilbert was quickly up to speed and easily passed the League’s requirements. The team would like to thank Mickey for joining them at the test and we’re looking forward to the competition.

Next up was Andrew Prendeville. Andrew was recently announced as the driver of one of Andersen Racing’s new entries into the Indy Pro Series. As with Gilbert, MCM was pleased to help out both the team and driver as they prepare for the 2007 season. Prendeville was also quick to pass the requirements and will be a welcome addition to the series.

As Prendeville finished his test, Joey Scarallo prepared to take over for Gilbert in the team’s second car. Joey performed flawlessly and will team up with Prendeville at Andersen for the season.

Supermodified driver, AJ Russell, suited up as Prendeville wrapped up his final laps. Russell is familiar with these types of speeds and was also quick to pass his test. Russell’s consistent lap times were quite impressive.

Grand Am’s Shane Lewis took over for Scarallo and showed why he is a force in the Daytona Prototype class. Lewis was quickly up to speed and turned some fast laps just before the rain began to fall.

Star Mazda’s Ron White was the sixth driver scheduled to circle the Homestead-Miami Speedway. Ron acclimated very quickly to the Indy Pro Series car. His lap times gave Butch Meyer cause to welcome him to the Indy Racing League.

Michael Crawford Motorsports has not yet finalized its lineup for the 2007 Season. That said, several candidates are actively pursuing rides with the team. Principal, Michael Crawford, and Team Manager/Engineer, Tim Whiting are evaluating their options and will be announcing their two-car lineup in the weeks ahead.
